Mike Tyson lost to Jake Paul via unanimous decision in the former world heavyweight champion's first fight in 19 years overnight.

The eight-round fight, which took place at the AT&T Stadium in Texas and was streamed on Netflix, was scored 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 in favour of the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Paul, 27, used his youth advantage to repeatedly close the gap on 58-year-old Tyson and the YouTuber continued to land heavy blows on a static Tyson, who looked grateful for the bell at the end of the third round.

Tyson struggled to keep pace with Paul, who was able to pick and choose his spots on an increasingly weary Tyson.

The bout was all but over headed into the final round, as Tyson took his time getting off the corner stool.

There was little of the famous power left in any of Tyson’s punches, and the pair embraced as the bell rang.

Recap Express Sport's live updates and reaction below...

That's the bell...

And that's that. Jake Paul takes the victory, but debates around the legitimacy of the bout will continue to rumble on.

A massive thank you for following Express Sport's coverage and make sure to check back as the fall out continues.

Mike Tyson responds after Jake Paul defeat

Mike Tyson has taken to social media to react to yesterday's defeat against Jake Paul.

Writing on X, he said: "This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.

"I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

"To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you."

Darts star gives surprising Jake Paul verdict after Mike Tyson win

Darts star Gerwyn Price has urged Anthony Joshua to get into the ring with Jake Paul following his victory over Mike Tyson.

Posting on his Instagram story, the 2021 world champion said: “I think Jake Paul would beat Anthony Joshua #JustSaying.”

Boxer claims Paul vs Tyson undercard was 'fixed'

Sara Bailey claimed the undercard for the Paul vs Tyson fight was fixed.

Speaking to ES NEWS: "Yeah, it was fixed, I'm sorry."

Jake Paul backs down on £33m Katie Taylor bet

Jake Paul has revealed he won't be chasing debts owed by Katie Taylor following last night's fight.

Taylor was among the boxers on the undercard to back Mike Tyson, with the Irish ace shaking Paul's hand on a bet the former would win.

She even convinced Tyson to put his entire £33million purse on the line - something Paul agreed to.

But Paul has said he won't be holding Taylor to the deal.

Speaking after the fight, he said: “We never made it official, I think it was all in light of entertainment and trying to make something fun, selling fights.”

Tony Bellew unhappy with Paul vs Tyson spectacle

Tony Bellew has continued to criticise the Paul vs Tyson bout.

On X he said: "We are all to blame for this man [Jake Paul]! We are all talking and watching.

“We have to stop this fool. Don’t tune into him until he fights someone who is fit, healthy and not a grandfather.

"Any proper boxing people helping Paul need to look at themselves. This is just sad."

Amanda Serrano disputes Katie Taylor decision

Amanda Serrano doesn't believe the judges got the decision from her fight with Katie Taylor wrong.

Taylor retained her super lightweight belt with a narrow win over Serrano.

Reacting to the decision, she said: “I knew it if went to the judges it was going to be a little shady. I chose to be great.

"I went up three divisions. It is what it is. I’m a featherweight, man. She kept headbutting me. It’s what she does. It’s not just my fight, it’s all her fights.”

Conor McGregor and Drake lose thousands

It was an expensive night for Conor McGregor and Drake last night, both of whom lost thousands after backing Mike Tyson.

Drake bet $355,000 on Tyson to win by KO or on points.

While McGregor placed a $1million double on Tyson and Jon Jones to beat Stipe Miocic at UFC 309.

Jake Paul will no doubt be enjoying that he proved the pair wrong.

Paul's thoughts on Serrano clear

Amanda Serrano felt she was robbed by Katie Taylor - and Jake Paul clearly agrees.

The American insists the Puerto Rican star is the biggest name in female fighting right now.

He also reposted Serrano's message which read: "To my fans I’m going to always give it everything I have.

"I’m a ruthless warrior & Katie is my buddy but Damn her best attribute is her head. No punching power but hard ass head lol."

Amir Khan not happy with Logan Paul

Amir Khan is furious with Logan Paul for telling Mike Tyson: "Motherf***er I'd kill you."

'Iron Mike' called out Jake's older brother after losing in Texas last night to which Logan responded with the above.

And Khan told New Zealand Daily: "It annoyed me because you can’t be talking to a champion like that – one of the heavyweight greats.

"These guys have started to make boxing become a joke and it was a bad day for boxing. People like these YouTubers shouldn’t have the audacity to speak to Mike Tyson like that."

The BRit added to Jake: "He keeps talking about wanting to fight a real champion and get into boxing properly. Fight a real fight, a young hungry fighter instead of these YouTubers.

"He got found out by Tommy Fury but now he needs to up his game to show that he belongs in boxing otherwise he is making a mockery of boxing.

"He’s getting big numbers, making money and is enjoying all of the fame behind it with TV deals and sponsorships.

"Boxers have to up their game because if these YouTubers continue taking over, it’ll only be more motivation for more YouTubers to get into boxing and we can’t let this happen."

Why was Mike Tyson biting his gloves?

It's a question on a lot of people's lips this morning... why was Mike Tyson biting his gloves?

Well it wasn't because he was in pain.

Instead, it's because he has a biting fixation, per the man himself.

Critics take aim

Not many people were impressed by Jake Paul's win over Mike Tyson - including from within the fighting world.

Tony Bellew, Gervonta Davis and Terence Crawford are among those to have criticised the fight...

Jake Paul explains why he didn't get a KO

Jake Paul says he only didn't knock Mike Tyson out because he didn't want to.

In his post-fight press conference, a reporter asked: "At any point did you start to take your foot off the gas just a little bit because you knew he was tiring out?"

To which Paul replied: "Yeah, definitely. Definitely a bit.

"I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn't want to hurt someone [Tyson] that didn't need to be hurt."

Both fighters suspended

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul face mandatory suspensions from boxing following their eight-round bout .

Such suspensions are standard practice in combat sports to protect fighters, especially after a knockout.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which managed the fight, has imposed a no-spar ban to ensure both athletes have adequate time to recover from any fight-related injuries.

Although the exact duration of the rest period is not yet determined, it will be at least seven days.

A technical knockout would have resulted in a minimum 30-day suspension, while a knockout would have led to a 60-day suspension.

KSI rages at Jake Paul win

Jake Paul's arch enemy KSI is clearly not happy with his foe's victory over Mike Tyson...

The YouTuber had predicted a Paul win via KO having said pre-fight: "This will not be close at all.

"Boxing is a young man's game and Mike is 58 years old. They're sending a lamb to the slaughter and it's disgusting."

Thousands of fans storm out

Thousands of fans stormed out before Jake Paul was even declared the winner against Mike Tyson after being left fuming with the standard of the fight.

The 58-year-old landed just 18 punches in 16 minutes having only attempted 97, compared to Paul's 278 attempts.

Fans were not happy at the lack of action and many made their way for the exits while the bout was still ongoing.

Amanda Serrano accuses Katie Taylor of cheating

Amanda Serrano is furious about her second defeat to Katie Taylor and has accused the Irishwoman of cheating.

Taylor successfully defended her undisputed world light-welterweight champion title with a unanimous decision victory over Serrano in Texas.

The Irish boxer defeated her Puerto Rican opponent in their first clash in 2022 and the judges scored the bout 95-94 in her favour this time too despite her being docked a point.

Serrano said afterwards: "I knew it if went to the judges it was going to be a little shady.

"I chose to be great. I went up three divisions. It is what it is. I’m a featherweight, man. She kept headbutting me. It’s what she does.

"It’s not just my fight, it’s all her fights. It’s what she does."

Will Mike Tyson retire?

So the big question is will Mike Tyson retire from boxing after losing this latest fight at 58 years of age?

It seems not.

"I don't think so. Maybe [I'll fight] his brother," he says, with Logan Paul having been in the ring at the end.

Mike Tyson had the best comments

Mike Tyson had the best post-fight reaction, and showed he still had quick wits despite boxing for eight, grueling rounds.

He said he was "absolutely happy" with his performance. And, when host Ariel Helwani asked why he was biting his gloves so much, he said simply: "I have a biting fixation" — a probable reference to The Bite Fight in 1996 when he was disqualified for biting Evander Holyfield's ear.

Jake Paul reacts to his eight-round win

"Mike Tyson … he's a legend," Jake Paul said in the ring after his win was confirmed. "He's a legend, the greatest to ever do it. I look up to him, I'm inspired by him. This man is an icon. He's obviously the toughest, baddest man. It was tough, like I expected it to be."

It's over

With Mike Tyson gassed, depleted of energy, Jake Paul gets a win with scores of 80-72 (79-73). In reality, there are few winners here. There was a draw in the Mario Barrios vs Abel Ramos bout, a disputed result in Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor, and a fight in which Paul and Tyson created something we'll always remember, though wish we could forget.

From The Baddest to the Saddest

Mike Tyson was renowned as The Baddest Man on the Planet during his heyday but the longer this fight goes, the sadder it just seems. This is because Tyson is biting down on his gloves, absorbing a lot of Jake Paul's punches, and can't seem to pull the trigger on his own shots. Sports should be fun. And this, now, isn't.

Jake Paul head hunts

With Mike Tyson boxing at a quarter-pace, and with throwing very little at Jake Paul, the younger fighter was able to head-hunt and threw a particularly accurate three-punch combination, as well as a left hook.

Mike Tyson is in trouble in round three

Mike Tyson now looking every bit as old as his 58 years, as he's no longer as fast as he was in the first round, and Jake Paul continually finds a home for his more powerful punches — many of them are causing a visible effect on the veteran.

Round two in the books

In the second, Tyson's head movement proved to be good defense against Jake Paul's singular punches. When Paul did land a right hand, Tyson simply absorbed the shot. Paul was more active in the second than the first, landing triple jabs, and boxing like the much younger fighter should.

Jake Paul lands 1-2

Though Mike Tyson enjoyed the upper hand in the opening minute of the first round, the move of the round arguably came from Jake Paul, who landed a textbook one-two. That second punch, a straight right, thudded Tyson's head.

Mike Tyson starts fast

Mike Tyson started the fight in fast fashion! He stormed across the ring, with his customary stance in which he relied on his powerful legs, and landed an overhand right early! Wow!

It's 2024 and Mike Tyson is in the ring

Whatever happens, credit to Mike Tyson — an ambassador for boxing, who is one of the most famous people on the planet, and in incredible shape. And he's willing to risk the fate Jake Paul bestowed on people like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, by getting in the ring at 58 and doing what he's done all his life … FIGHT.

Jake Paul makes his entrance

Most fighters are used to making their ring walk, but for Jake Paul, it's more of a drive as he cruises in a low-rider Chevy to Phil Collins, alongside his WWE superstar brother Logan Paul. Few know how to make as big an impact as the Paul brothers!

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul get ready to make their walk

Mike Tyson won the world heavyweight championship aged 20 years and four months when, in 1986, he defeated Trevor Berbick. Now, 38 years later, he's returning to the ring as one of the oldest to do it, aged 58. And he's doing it against one of the most notorious people in the internet era. Let's go!

Fans feelings clear

Fans inside AT&T Stadium have made it clear who they are supporting - Mike Tyson. When the former heavyweight king was filmed heading into the arena, fans reacted with huge cheers. Whenever Paul has been shown on the screen, there have been boos. It's no surprise, and Paul is happy playing the villain. But the majority here are hoping to see the 'Baddest Man on the Planet' roll back the years.

Amanda Serrano reacts

Reacting to the judges scoring the fight for Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano said: "I knew if it went to the judges it would be a little shady."

She added that the headbutts that Taylor hit her with were "100% intentional."

Final punch stats show Serrano lead

According to final punch statistics on Netflix, Amanda Serrano out-threw, out-landed, and was more accurate than Katie Taylor in key metrics. She landed 324 shots from 734 thrown for a 44% hit rate, compared to her rival's 217 from 529 (41%).

The results are in

All three judges scored the fight 95-94 to Katie Taylor … which did not go down with the Netflix commentators. They credit Taylor, and her legacy, but they call the result a robbery.

What makes Amanda Serrano's performance even more impressive

Both fighters, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, deserve the utmost credit for delivering a Fight of the Year contender in the co-main event of the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul event. But what makes the part Serrano played more impressive is that she's the smaller athlete who had to rise in weight class to challenge Taylor not once, but twice, and help create a historic rivalry in the process. Incredible!

Katie Taylor has one round to win

Katie Taylor could be trailing on the scorecards and may need to score a Hollywood finish in the final round. Here. We. Go!

The referee deducts a point from Taylor!

The referee takes a point away from Katie Taylor because of apparent head-butting in round eight. It makes her task to score a win that much harder if we go to the judges scorecards.

The referee doesn't like Serrano's cut

A headbutt from Katie Taylor to Amanda Serrano has caused a nasty cut. The referee and doctor are assessing Serrano, and she says she wants to continue. If the cut were to stop the fight then, as four rounds have already passed, it would go to "technical decision" and a winner would be determined by the scorecards.

Netflix suffers streaming issues

Netflix encountered mass streaming issues Friday during the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul event.

Those who experienced the streaming issues flocked to social media to express their discontent.

More details here.

Plenty of drama early in the fight

Just as there was drama in the first fight, Amanda Serrano troubled Katie Taylor in the opening round. Serrano will know she can hurt Taylor … and could seek to get her revenge win!

The undisputed championship is at stake

Not only is bragging rights at stake, but there is also an undisputed world championship on the line for Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor. Regardless of result, we may well see a third installment of this incredible rivalry as both fighters expressed interest to Netflix of a fight with 12 x 3-minute rounds rather than the customary 10 x 2-minute rounds for women.

Rematches rarely get bigger than this

Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor fought a Fight of the Year contender in 2022, and though Serrano lost a narrow decision to Taylor, it's a result her team disputed. Serrano hurt Taylor in the first fight, and the rematch looks set to be just as electric.

Stands filling up

The stands are filling up here at AT&T Stadium. There's been a steady stream of fans since the opening bout of the night, and with Katie Taylor's rematch with Amanda Serrano coming up, nobody wants to miss it.They're expecting around 75,000 fans here for the main event, with the bout having already generated $17.8 million in revenue - a new record for a U.S. fight outside of Las Vegas. It promises to be some atmosphere from here on out.

Judges scorecards for Mario Barrios vs Abel Ramos

The judges results are in and the three officials found it impossible to separate Mario Barrios from Abel Ramos.

Ramos received a score of 114-112 from one judge, which another judge overruled with 116-110. A 113-113 card confirmed the draw.

Marios Barrios and Abel Ramos leave it all on the ring

Marios Barrios looked like he'd been in a fight with a hedge trimmer, not Abel Ramos, who also looked like he was in a world of pain after 12 grueling rounds. We await the official verdicts from the scorecards.

A brutal, bloody battle

To borrow a term from football, this fight has been a game of two halves, with Mario Barrios taking the opening rounds before Abel Ramos battled back in the second half. Now, the effect of the competitive slugfest is taking its toll as both fighters bleed from the nose.

Momentum has swung in Abel Ramos' favor

Abel Ramos followed his sixth-round knockdown with another strong three minutes in the seventh, as the champion Mario Barrios is now on the backfoot. Ramos knows he can hurt Barrios.

Abel Ramos enjoys a huge sixth round

Wow! With a straight hand to the jaw and follow up shots, Abel Ramos scored a comeback knockdown in the sixth round! Ramos, the clear underdog and in the biggest fight of his life, almost finished Barrios had it not been for the bell. Great round!

Mike Tyson gets the biggest pop of the night

Between the fourth and fifth round, Netflix heads backstage to air Jake Paul and Mike Tyson's grand arrivals. And, though there were cheers for the internet sensation, Paul, the biggest pop of the whole night was for Tyson. The boxing icon made history when, in 1986, he set the record as the youngest heavyweight champion aged 20 years and four months. Now, 38 years later, he is hours away from making history once again as he returns to the ring aged 58.

It's all Mario Barrios through four rounds

Though Abel Ramos is hanging in there in the fight, showing good punch variety, the dominance Mario Barrios displayed through his jab alone, let alone his two-punch combos and multi-shot flurries, would have been enough to command a lopsided lead on the cards — should the fight go that far.

Mario Barrios vs Abel Ramos take the night to a higher level

Mario Barrios, who is trained by Bob Santos, and Abel Ramos, who has a high-class boxer as a brother in Jesus Ramos, combine to take Netflix's night of boxing to a greater level, leading into the Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor rematch.

In the opening two rounds, Barrios landed with his jab, and dropped his man in the second! An incredible early lead for the champion.

Mario Barrios has one of the most iconic ring-walks in boxing

The WBC welterweight world champion Mario Barrios walks to the ring for a title defense against Abel Ramos. Nicknamed El Azteca, Barrios has one of the most distinctive and colorful ring walks in the entire sport as indigenous dancers, drumming, and outfits accompany him to the squared circle.

The fourth fight is in the books

Neeraj Goyat, who showboated at times through the fight, secured a decision win over Whindersson Nunes in the Netflix opener, landing almost twice as many shots with 171 to 87.

Neeraj Goyat and Whindersson Nunes make their ring-walks

The Netflix broadcast is underway and received as over-the-top an introduction as combat sports can conjure thanks to the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.

The first bout on Netflix features Neeraj Goyat, a recent Most Valuable Promotions signing who wants to box Jake Paul in India, against Whindersson Nunes.

Third fight complete

After 10 x 2-minute rounds, Shadashia Green leaves the ring with the win after a split decision over Melinda Watpool. The three judges had scores of 97-93 and 96-94 overturning the one score of 96-94 for Green.

Championship rounds

We're into the championship rounds in the third fight of the night, which has been a close one.

Shadasia Green has been trying to land more power punches, but Melinda Watpool has boxed smartly throguh the first eight rounds.

There's two, two-minute rounds left to decide which woman will come away with the vacant title.

Second fight complete

The second fight of the night is complete. Lucas Bahdi has beaten Armando Casamonica on points to advance his record to 18-0.

The Italian was previously unbeaten at 14-0 but took the fight at short notice.

We're now onto the final fight before the Netflix broadcast begins. Shadashia Green and Melinda Watpool are now in the ring ready to compete for the vacant WBO World Super Middleweight title.

First result

Bruce Carrington won the first fight of the night comfortably - but it was a brave performance from Dana Coolwell.

Carrington won every round on all three judges' scorecards. But Coolwell can go back to Australia with his head held high after accepting a late call up to take the fight.

First fight underway

The opening fight of tonight's card is underway - Bruce Carrington vs Dana Coolwell.

There's another five fights after this one before the main event.

The headline of those warm-up contests is Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano.

That'll take place at around 3am with Taylor looking to maintain her unbeaten record in the rematch of their 2022 clash which the Irishwoman won by split decision.

How much the two fighters weigh

A reminder of the weight the two fighters checked in at yesterday...

Mike Tyson - 228.4lbs (16.3st)

Jake Paul - 227.2lbs (16.2st)

Paul said after: "No, someone's getting put to sleep. It's going to be a war and we're both heavy hitters. It's not going the full 16 minutes."

Let's see if he's right in a few hours' time...

Amir Khan begs Mike Tyson to be smart

Amir Khan has implored Mike Tyson to "be smart and focused" in tonight's fight rather than chasing a knockout.

Khan, who calls himself a good friend of the American icon's, told Prime Casino: "My message to Mike Tyson is we all love Mike Tyson. He’s a friend of mine as well. He is always going to be remembered as a great.

"We all think that Mike is going to go into the ring and go for the knockout, and he might get the knockout as well, but he has to be smart in there and focused, because we want to see Mike go in there, tear him apart, and walk out in one piece.

"Mike is a friend of mine and I FaceTime him and we speak, but when you've got a 65-year-old man fighting a young, at-his-peak fighter you do feel sorry — but you can’t feel too sorry for Mike Tyson because he’s taken that chance.

"One thing about Jake Paul is that he can fight. He’s a good fighter. He can punch, he can bang. You can see what he’s done with the MMA fighters.

"He's held his own and even knocked them out. He has that power. How’s Mike going to take a punch from a youngster who hits hard? Can Mike take the same power, the same punishment at 65? It's not going to be healthy. "

Jake Paul furious at 'scripted' claims

Talking of fight 'scripts', Jake Paul was furious when discussing the idea any of his previous bouts were rigged.

He also vehemently denied allegations that his showdown with Mike Tyson tonight is scripted.

"They chalk up what I've done to fights being rigged," he said in a YouTube face-off.

"Still when he (Tyson) posts on his Instagram looking like a killer [and] hitting the s**t out of the mits, the top five comments are 'if Jake wins this fight it's completely rigged', and that used to bother me."

"Because I was like 'I work so hard can't you f***ing people see', but now I take it as a compliment because the human peon brain of the 99 per cent can't even comprehend how good I've gotten and what I'm accomplishing in this world."

Tony Bellew calls out Jake Paul

EXCLUSIVE by Archie Griggs

Tony Bellew is adamant that he would knock Jake Paul out in emphatic fashion if they ever step into the ring together.

Paul has a history of facing retired fighters rather than current professionals, with heavyweight legend Mike Tyson his next opponent.

Bellew, 41, believes he would inflict the first knockout defeat of Paul's career, but is unsure if the YouTube star would be brave enough to accept the challenge.

"He would never fight me," Bellew told Express Sport as an ambassador for the Men on a Mission campaign, raising awareness for mental health and unhealthy drinking patterns in men aged over 50.

"It would last as long as I wanted it to last. I would say within the first round. It would only last probably a couple of minutes into the first round because for the first minute I would be laughing my t**s off. I’d let one left hook go and put him to sleep.

"Disney Boy could not do anything to me. Stick to Disney. I give him all the credit in the world for raising the profile of boxing, and I don’t say that lightly. He has."

Tonight's fight purse

Want to know how much each fighter will make from tonight's bout? Look no further...

Tyson will take home a guaranteed £15.8m ($20m) for taking on Paul.

The younger boxer claims he'll be earning double that, however - £31.4m ($40m).

That would make it one of the biggest purses in boxing history.

AJ backing Jake Paul

Tyson Fury is backing Mike Tyson - but his fellow British boxer Anthony Joshua thinks it'll be Jake Paul who triumphs tonight.

'The Problem Child' is getting the backing of AJ simply because he's 31 years 'Iron Mike's junior.

Tyson is 58 while Paul is just 27.

AJ said: "He [Mike Tyson] is older now. I pray that he comes out healthy. I think Jake Paul [wins] because of youth - that's the only thing."

Winner of fight 'leaked'?

Has the winner of tonight's fight already been 'leaked'?

Unfortunately not - but there have been some fake documents doing the rounds on social media today claiming that Jake Paul will win via a fifth-round KO.

The 'script' for the fight reads: "Round five proved to be the decisive round. Paul, sensing Tyson's fatigue, began to press forward more aggressively. He landed a sharp three-punch combination that forced Tyson back to the ropes.

"As Tyson attempted to dodge, Paul timed him perfectly with a devastating right hand that caught him flush on the chin.

"Tyson's legs gave way and he fell to the canvas. The referee started the count, but despite Tyson's fighting spirit, he couldn't beat the ten count. The winner was Jake Paul by KO in Round 5."

There was a similarly fake script circulated before Paul's loss to Tommy Fury last year too.

There is no indication whatsoever tonight's fight has been rigged.

Tyson Fury gives his prediction

Tyson Fury is backing his namesake Mike in tonight's showdown - insisting he could KO an opponent even at the age of 90.

The age of Iron Mike, who is now 58, has caused debate and concern in the build-up to the fight.

But Fury, who fights Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch in Saudi Arabia next month, has no concerns.

"If Mike Tyson hits anybody, I don't care if he's 90, he's going to knock them out cold isn't he?" he told the MMA Hour.

"He's Iron Mike Tyson, the baddest man on the planet.

"Jake Paul is very experienced now and he's had a lot of fights but obviously, I have to back Mike Tyson for the knockout as he always backs me."

Bellew brands Paul an 'absolute disgrace'

EXCLUSIVE by Archie Griggs

Tony Bellew has branded Jake Paul an 'absolute disgrace' for ensuring that his fight with Mike Tyson will count against the professional records of both boxers.

The event has been widely criticised by fans, with the age gap between the two men coming under fierce scrutiny. Tyson recently turned 58 while Paul, despite being a novice boxer, is 27 and in peak physical condition.

"I understand why it’s happening," Bellew told Express Sport as an ambassador for the Men on a Mission campaign, raising awareness for mental health and unhealthy drinking patterns in men aged over 50.

"It’s a huge money-making machine so I understand why it’s happening. I’m only critical of Jake Paul wanting it to be on Mike Tyson’s professional record, which I think is an absolute disgrace."

KSI has backed Jake Paul to knock out Mike Tyson and warned the 58-year-old that he will be outlasted by his younger opponent.

KSI partnered with Paul to create the PRIME drink and has dabbled in boxing after making his name as a content creator on YouTube.

And he is confident 'Problem Child' will be too much to handle for former heavyweight champion Tyson.

"Jake Paul will knock out Mike Tyson. This will not be close at all. Boxing is a young man's game and Mike is 58 years old," KSI posted on X.

"They're sending a lamb to the slaughter and it's disgusting."

Who has the higher net worth?

Mike Tyson is estimated to have earned over £234million during his boxing career, before he ended up losing it all and was forced to declare bankruptcy in 2003.

Despite these financial woes, Forbes estimates that including his post-boxing earnings, Tyson's total career income could be as high as £535m.

Tyson managed to rebuild his finances after his struggles, and now boasts a net worth of around £7.9m, according to Wealthy Gorilla.

Jake Paul of course hasn't amssed anywhere near the amount Tyson has earned from his boxing career. However, as of November 2024, the Evening Standard estimated Paul's net worth at £62m.

Most of this wealth was amassed through YouTube and other social media platforms before he took up boxing.

Masvidal explains why Paul will beat Tyson

Jorge Masvidal has backed Jake Paul to beat Mike Tyson due to his supreme fitness levels and superior endurance.

"I know it looks like he's always partying and s***, but this guy is training Monday through Saturday, he's running his miles, he's hitting the bag and I just don't know what kind of physical condition Mike is going to be in," Masvidal said, speaking to Sportsbook Review.

"I know he's got his injuries, can he really pull it off at 60 years old? I feel like Jake's going to take the first two rounds off, just get on his bike and move around, wear Tyson out. He'll get tired. He will probably want to take Mike into the later rounds and then it's going to be a problem.

"At the same time I don't think Jake is a good enough boxer to keep Mike off. But I'm leaning towards Jake by decision. It's 14-ounce gloves so that favors Jake, so he should be able to take a shot better.

"The longer it goes the better it is for Jake, but can he get out of those first two rounds. Jake wins because of the overall age, conditioning, shape, it's going to make a big difference."

Boxing promoter slams 'novice' fight

Boxing promoter Kalle Sauerland has blasted Mike Tyson and Jake Paul's fight as 'novice boxing' and claims it could damage the 'romance' of the sport.

Speaking with Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan on The Sports Agents podcast, the top promoter said: “What is it, 270 million subscribers around the world? You know, those are big numbers, and it's going to do amazing business. It will literally melt television.

“Paul vs Tyson might be this mega, mega Netflix tune-in spectacle – no demographic, no gender it attracts everyone almost – but it's not a ticket seller. They’ve gone for, bizarrely, a massive arena for this as well. Now, these guys and girls are consumed mostly online, right?

“You've got to define or distinctly separate traditional boxing, as I call it, and what I call crossover boxing. Crossover boxing is novice boxing. It's just novice boxing at different levels, like any sort of novice boxing. But it's with people who have an audience. So, they bring an audience to it.

“Even Tony Bellew would bash him [Paul] up. There’s levels to it. Jake Paul is not in boxing. He wants us to believe he’s in boxing, and I’ll believe he’s in boxing when he goes the way around becoming a boxer… He’s not a boxer, he’s a cross-over boxer. There’s a big difference.

“There's no winner and loser. There's people going home with multi-multimillion dollar pay cheques, it’s great business for Netflix. It’s horrible for the romantic of sport – or the romance of sport. There's no romance. It's about a spectacle.”

Lawmakers could step in to stop fight

Concerns have been raised that lawmakers could get involved if 'something terrible' happens in the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.

The event has been widely criticised by boxing purists, with the age gap between the two men coming under scrutiny.

Tyson celebrated his 58th birthday earlier this year and is taking part in his first officially sanctioned bout since 2005. Paul, meanwhile, is in the prime of his life at 27 years of age and has fought twice this year, winning on both occasions.

Frazer Clarke, who has challenged for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles, believes there will be serious consequences if Tyson is left badly hurt.

Writing in his Metro column, he said: "Who is held responsible if something terrible happens? I don’t know how we have got to this stage where it has been sanctioned. If something did happen, I am sure to God that someone would be in trouble with the law."

Tyson accuses Paul as veteran explains slap

Mike Tyson insisted he had no choice but to slap Jake Paul after accusing the boxer of trying to injure him.

The former heavyweight champion, 58, slapped Paul at their weigh-in on Thursday and has since claimed the YouTuber, 27, stepped on his toe.

The Cleveland native crawled up to Tyson before springing to his feet - and footage shows he appeared to get too close before standing on his foot.

Tyson has now cleared up what happened and said Paul left him in a 'lot of pain' after standing on his toe.

“I was in my socks and he had on shoes,” Tyson told The Post moments after the weigh-in. “He stepped on my toe because he is a f****** a-hole.

"I wanted to think it happened by accident. But now I think it may have happened on purpose. I was in a lot of pain. I had to reciprocate.”

How Tyson vs Paul fight could be cancelled

Boxing icon Mike Tyson is set to undergo last-ditch medical tests before his highly anticipated fight against internet sensation Jake Paul this Friday.

The legendary heavyweight, who's stepping out of retirement for the clash, will face Paul in November, following a four-month delay caused by Tyson's health scare involving an ulcer flare-up.

The incident occurred on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, leaving Tyson in distress and coughing up blood on the bathroom floor.

It's been four years since Tyson's last appearance in the ring, which ended in a draw during an exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr, and his final professional bout resulted in a retirement after five rounds against Kevin McBride in 2005.

The upcoming fight with Paul has received professional status but could be downgraded to an exhibition if Tyson doesn't pass the pre-fight medical examinations.

All of it made me fall in love with boxing, to a point where I need boxing on a daily basis just to function. I love the sport, that’s really what it is.”
